You can’t use SaaS if you don’t have internet service…

Ironically, as I was attempting to post the Rome story below (about software delivered over the internet), I was being defeated by the worst internet service commercially available - the so-called “business” internet provided by Comcast - the same people that are completely inept at operating as a cable television provider…

I have nothing good to say about this company. I suspect that I could get a 1970’s “acoustic coupler” (the thing from the internet stone-age that you put your phone’s handset in and that made audiable squeaks and squawks at a mainframe computer somewhere) and get better response times. Comcast’s service runs somewhere from being totally out at its worst, to being about as fast as a stoned turtle at its best. Do not use these guys for your business’s internet access - you will regret it even more than I regret not having tackled my wife as she and my 6 year old daughter walked toward the intestinally distressed black lab puppies for sale in the HEB parking lot this last weekend…more than a redneck regrets having said “Hey watch this!” as he held a can of gasoline and a zippo lighter…more than k-Fed regrets having responded to Brittney when she approached him and said “Hey there! Yer kinda cute, what’s yer name?”…well, you get the idea…

I’m not sure what Comcast thinks “business class” internet service should be. Whatever it is, do not fall victim to these guys!

Consider yourself warned.

[…] A friend of this blog, John Steunenberg, who has his own terrific blog at http://steunenberg.wordpress.com/ (although in German - thank goodness for the somewhat iffy Google translator), commented on my Comcast rant, and pointed me in the direction of Twitter, a “micro blogging” service that is apparently monitored by Comcast in order to keep tabs on what their customers think of their “service”.
