Filed under: Natural Gas, Energy, Commodities, General, Risk ManagementPatrick Reames | June 20, 2007 @ 3:48 pm (Views: 473)

In an article written by R. Timothy Patterson, a professor and director of the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre, Department of Earth Sciences, Carleton University in Canada, he points out that the sunspot cycle is going to be nearing 2 century low around 2020. When that happens, the output of the sun will be reduced by about 0.1%, not only reducing radiant heat, but also lessening the solar wind, allowing more cosmic rays to reach the earth and increasing cloud cover. The author of this article suggests that nations start moving to action now, before this global cooling takes place.

It kinda makes your head spin…
